Shaytan (IPA: /ʃɛjtˤɑːn/, ku: Şeytan) is a Kurdish-Austrian artist based in Vienna. It is also a transliteration of the Kurdish term for <d̴͖̍e̶̙̚v̸̧̒i̶̥͐l̸͎͆>, which corresponds with the artists belief to permanently question the status quo and the rigidity of modern capitalist societies. The sound of Shaytan comes close to the Kurdish term for <ç̷͐r̴̎ͅa̷̠͆z̶͖̀y̷̜̋>, to emphasize Shaytan's method of harboring their propositions and messages to this world inside their head, tossing them repetitively like boneless ragdolls until they are ready to emerge as a wrangled, distorted version of their former self in the form of artworks.

Shaytan, a computer toucher themself, rejects the promises of a tech-optimistic future and urges their viewers to take back control and peek behind the curtain of pixel-perfect UI.
